Inelasticity and intranuclear cascading in geometrical multichain model
The inelasticity in nucleus-nucleus collisions at high energies is calculated in the framework of geometrical multichain model. The very fast increase of the inelasticity is found as a result of a second-stage cascading process. The same behaviour is expected for all the models using the wounded nucleon idea. The simple formula for the number of wounded nucleons inside colliding nuclei does not...
متن کاملGeometrical analysis of the algebraic cluster model
Three-body clusters are studied in the algebraic cluster model. Particular attention is paid to the case of three identical particles. It is shown in a geometrical analysis that the harmonic oscillator, the deformed oscillator and the oblate symmetric top are contained as special solutions. An application of the oblate top limit to the nucleus 12 C suggests that the low-lying spectrum can be de...

متن کاملGeometrical Properties of Loops and Cluster Boundaries
We discuss how the statistical properties of the area and radius of gyration of single self-avoiding loops, and of Ising and percolation cluster boundaries, may be calculated using ideas of two-dimensional field theory. For cluster boundaries, we show that almost all loops have area C lnL+O(1), where L is the size of the system, and C is a calculable constant. We also compute the universal rati...
متن کاملCriticality in a Cascading Failure Blackout Model
We verify and examine criticality in a 1000 bus network with an AC blackout model that represents many of the interactions that occur in cascading failure. At the critical loading there is a sharp rise in the mean b l a c k out size and a power law probability distr ibution of blackout size that indicates a s i g n i f i cant risk of large blackouts.
